Early in the DAE Toast Masters Club

Meetings

The atmosphere is warm, friendly and supportive. Toastmasters meetings are designed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to speak in front of the group.  Every speaker, except the final “general evaluator” also gets some feedback, or evaluation, of their speech, no matter how short that speech was.

The agenda is typically something like this, which provides for 15 different people to speak:

7:55 am (3 min) – Chair
7:58 (2 min) – Education
8:00 (1 min) – Timer (Explanation of role)
8:01 (1 min) – Grammarian (Explanation of role)
8:02 (13 min) – Table Topics Master (4 topics/2 min each)
8:15 (3 min) – Table Topics Evaluation
8:18 (5-7 min) – Speaker #1
8:25 (3 min) – Speech #1 Evaluation
8:28 (5-7 min) – Speaker #2
8:35 (3 min) – Speech #2 Evaluation
8:38 (1 min) – Timer Report
8:39 (2 min) – Grammarian Report
8:41 (5 min) – General Evaluator
8:46 – New Business
8:52 – Next meeting and agenda
8:55 – Adjourn
